"Genevieve, what are you doing here?" he asks. She laughs, and gives him a quick kiss on his cheek.      "I decided to surprise you," she says happily. "And while I was looking for you, I ran into this young man, who, it turns out, is Melinda's boyfriend!" She looks in Melinda's direction and her eyes light up. "There you are, Melinda! How are you?"      She walks toward her and gives her a friendly hug.      "You still haven't told me if you're coming to our Halloween party," Genevieve says accusingly.      Melinda smiles. "I'm sorry, Genevieve. It must have slipped my mind. I'm actually not sure-"      "We'll be happy to come!" Greg says, grinning. "I already have my costume picked out. Who are you dressing up as, sweetheart?"      Melinda feels flustered and feels her cheeks grow hot. "I-I'm not sure," she stammers.      Genevieve laughs at her reaction. "I told Greg about the party once I discovered who he was, and invited him, too," she explains. "It will be so much fun to have you there. Won't it, darling?" she says, turning to Wayne.      Wayne puts an arm around his wife awkwardly and smiles uncomfortably at Melinda. "It will be a pleasure to have you both there," he says.      "You can't say no now, Melinda," Greg says, smiling broadly.      "No, I guess I can't," she replies, laughing.      "Well that settles it!" Genevieve says. "I'll have Wayne give you the party invitation and directions to our house tomorrow."      "Sounds good," Melinda answers. She glances at the paperwork by her computer and looks back at everyone. "If you don't mind, I'd like to get back to work. I need to start typing if I want to leave here on time!"      She turns to Genevieve and smiles. "It was a pleasure to see you, as always," she says politely.      "I'm so happy I ran into you, Melinda. Don't work too hard!" Genevieve says. Then she pulls Wayne to her and leads him down the hallway.      Melinda sits back down in her computer chair. Greg ambles over and sits in the chair beside her. He takes her hand in his and reaches over and kisses her softly on the lips.      "Are you feeling better?" he says quietly.      She looks at him and then bursts into tears unexpectedly.      "Oh Melinda… Don't cry…" he says soothingly, pulling her up and enfolding her in his arms. "I know you'll find your father one day."
